Can Rabbits Eat Italian Parsley

Yes, rabbits can and should eat Italian parsley. My pet rabbit Mabel loves Italian parsley and we often give her between 4-6 whole pieces (stems?) per day!

Italian parsley may be one of the most beneficial super greens for your special rabbit, and I strongly encourage that you start giving your bun some for a big boost to their immune system and digestive health.

I’ll get more into the benefits in a second, but first, let’s watch Mabel eat some Italian parsley to confirm that yes, rabbits can eat Italian parsley.

What are the Benefits of Italian Parsley for Rabbits?

Packed with essential nutrients like vitamins A, C, and K, Italian parsley is full of benefits for your pet rabbit. The combination of these nutrients promotes good digestive help, supports kidney function, and protects their eyes from degradation.

Italian parsley can be given to your rabbit daily, but moderation, as always, is paramount.

For smaller dwarf rabbits weighing under 2 lbs, we suggest 1-3 sprigs of Italian parsley max. You can double that ratio for each additional 2 lbs to find the right amount for your rabbit.

We suggest staying on the lower end most days, and too much Italian parsley can lead to cecotropes.

Give Your Bunny a Slice of Italy with Delicious Parsley

All the bunnies I’ve given Italian parsley to absolutely love it. The strong scent and strong stem make it very appealing for bunnies. I’ve mixed it in with cilantro, dill, mint, dandelion greens, and Italian parsley often seems like the first choice.

So with that said, Italian parsley gets my seal of approval and I hope you share some with your rabbit soon. If you have any questions or comments, leave them below and I will be happy to help.
